Freedom of speech means to me that you can say whatever you want and you won't get in trouble.

Well it all on if it is appropriate for school or it is appropriate for your work place.
If Mr. Campbell forbid you to wear your favorite shirt to school, would he be right in doing so?
If it wasn't appropriate for school if he would tell me instead of getting mad (if he would do that). I would probably understand. I would not wear the shirt to school again.
If your locker was searched, would you have a right to refuse a search? Why?Yes, because that is your personal place to keep all of you things.
